Dear Students,
The new course "ME 58008 - Computational Methods for Electromagnetics" will be offered by Kürşat Şendur in the 2024-2025 Spring Semester.
Computational electromagnetics is a rapidly growing field that deals with developing computational models for the interaction of electromagnetic fields with devices and objects, which are made of different material composition. A thorough understanding of this interaction is crucial for various applications including radiative heat transfer, radiative cooling, smart windows, antennas, waveguides, metamaterials, nano-optics, plasmonics, nanoantennas etc. The techniques that are taught in this class will be important not only for understanding this interaction through computational models, but also for the design of complicated devices and systems for various electromagnetics and optics applications. The students will learn both integral equation-based solutions and differential equation-based solutions of Maxwell’s equations.
