Success of ME Graduate Students

ME graduate students Ata Otaran, Gökay Çoruhlu, and Yusuf Mert Şentürk of HMI Laboratory have been awarded the People's Choice Award at the Student Innovation Challenge at IEEE WorldHaptics 2017 with their project titled “HandsOn-Computing: Promoting Algorithmic Thinking through Haptic Educational Robots.” The award is sponsored by Disney Research.
The educational robot used in this project has been designed for and is actively being used in the laboratory sessions of our ME 403 Introduction to Robotics course. 
IEEE WorldHaptics is one of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s flagship conferences and is the premier international forum for haptics. IEEE WorldHaptics 2017 had over 700 participants.
